New Hampshire Jr Monarchs penalty kill dominates in 2-0 defeat of New England Huskies

Despite having to fight off several power plays, New Hampshire Jr Monarchs was able to defeat New England Huskies, 2-0.

The win gave New Hampshire Jr Monarchs a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

New Hampshire Jr Monarchs was paced by Teddy McCarran, who had one goal. McCarran scored 1:57 into the third period to make the score 1-0 New Hampshire Jr Monarchs. Dylan Rothenberger picked up the assist.

New Hampshire Jr Monarchs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. New England Huskies was unable to stop New Hampshire Jr Monarchs from sending pucks towards the net, and New Hampshire Jr Monarchs eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Kyle LaJeunesse also scored for New Hampshire Jr Monarchs. In addition, New Hampshire Jr Monarchs received assists from Paul Pirozzo and Andrew Pierce, who each chipped in one.

New England Huskies stifled New Hampshire Jr Monarchs' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. New England Huskies was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 29 penalty minutes.

New Hampshire Jr Monarchs' Alex Devine stopped 22 shots out of the 22 that he faced. New Hampshire Jr Monarchs registered zero goals on seven power play opportunities. Brian Tomzcyk rejected 32 shots on goal for New England Huskies. New England Huskies ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kurt Johnson was ejected from the game.
