South Shore Kings beats Boston Bandits 4-2 after comeback scare

Boston Bandits tried its best to erase a four-goal deficit, but South Shore Kings would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2.

A goal by Michael DeBuccia put South Shore Kings up 4-0 in the second period, but Boston Bandits pulled to within two on Tyler Drevitch's tally 17:25 into the third period.

The win gave South Shore Kings a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

South Shore Kings was paced by Evan Jacques, who finished with one goal and one assist. Jacques scored 12:48 into the second period to make the score 3-0 South Shore Kings. DeBuccia provided the assist.

South Shore Kings excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. South Shore Kings forced Boston Bandits goalie Ryan Simoneau to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

South Shore Kings also got points from DeBuccia, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Christopher Walsh, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Jacques, who also had one goal and one assist. Patrick deMontigny also scored for South Shore Kings. In addition, South Shore Kings received assists from Tyler Ayers, who had two and Brian Collins, Brandon Yee, and Alex Erban, who contributed one each.

Boston Bandits got a goal from Sam Kent as well. Other players who recorded assists for Boston Bandits were Dakoda Menslage and Derek Ridgway, who each chipped in one.

Brian Jacobs made 19 saves for South Shore Kings on 21 shots. South Shore Kings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Simoneau turned away 32 pucks between the pipes for Boston Bandits. Boston Bandits ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major.
