Falkof lifts South Shore Kings over Boston Bandits, 6-1

Philip Falkof was all over the ice for South Shore Kings, as he tallied two goals in South Shore Kings' 6-1 win over Boston Bandits.

Falkof's tallies came at 1:16 into the second period to make the score 2-1 South Shore Kings and 13:14 into the third to make the score 5-1 South Shore Kings.

The win gave South Shore Kings a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

South Shore Kings' Brian Jacobs was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 45 saves and let only one puck past him. Despite the solid performance, Jacobs will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 1.0 entering the contest.

South Shore Kings' penalty kill excelled, as South Shore Kings gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays.

South Shore Kings stifled Boston Bandits' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Boston Bandits was unable to stop South Shore Kings from sending pucks towards the net, and South Shore Kings eventually piled up 48 shots on goal. South Shore Kings was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 28 penalty minutes. The leading offender was Cameron Prouty, who totaled 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one misconduct.

South Shore Kings got a goal from Brandon Yee as well. More assists for South Shore Kings came via Alex Erban, who had three and Patrick Walsh and John Sugrue, who each chipped in one.

Boston Bandits excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Boston Bandits forced South Shore Kings goalie Jacobs to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots.

Boston Bandits was led by Tyler Drevitch, who scored the team's only goal. Drevitch scored 6:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Boston Bandits. Dakoda Menslage assisted on the tally.

Boston Bandits' Ryan McCarthy stopped 42 shots out of the 48 that he faced. Boston Bandits incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
