Atlanta Knights beats Tampa Bay Juniors 5-2 as Fendius gets hat trick

Dan Fendius netted a hat trick to lead Atlanta Knights over Tampa Bay Juniors, 5-2.

Fendius got on the scoresheet 4:37 into the third period. He then added goals at 15:12 into the third and at 18:31 into the third.

The win gave Atlanta Knights a 1-0 lead in the best of one series.

Atlanta Knights' offense efficiently hummed along to the tune of 46 shots put on Tampa Bay Juniors' net.

Andrew Newman also scored for Atlanta Knights. Other players who recorded assists for Atlanta Knights were Boris Knyazev and Justin Fisher, who each chipped in two.

Tampa Bay Juniors was helped by Ryan Odgers, who had one goal. Odgers scored on the power play 7:46 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Atlanta Knights. Tampa Bay Juniors had gained a power play chance when Brandon Harley was whistled for interference. David Cross assisted on the tally. Tampa Bay Juniors got a goal from Benjamin Winter as well.

Sean Davis made 17 saves for Atlanta Knights on 19 shots. Atlanta Knights incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Tampa Bay Juniors' Kyle Gertz stopped 41 shots out of the 45 that he faced. Tampa Bay Juniors ended with no penalties and went 1-for-2 on the power play.
