Finn stymies Trenton, Kingston wins 2-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Charlie Finn helped the Kingston Voyageurs defeat the Trenton Golden Hawks, 2-1.

After the loss made the series score 1-3 in the best of seven series, Trenton faces elimination next time out.

Kingston was led by Ludlow Harris, who registered one goal. Harris scored 3:56 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Kingston. Casey Cook picked up the assist.

The Voyageurs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Golden Hawks to score on any of their five power plays. Kingston kept Trenton's goalie busy throughout the game, and Spencer Finney made 30 saves on 32 shots.

Chad Duchesne also scored for Kingston. More assists for Kingston came via Greg Trichilo, Steve McParland, and David McMullen, who each chipped in one.

The Voyageurs were unable to stop the Golden Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Trenton eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. The Golden Hawks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. The leading offender was Josh Sidwell, who totaled four minutes in penalty time with two minors.

Trenton was led by Michael Radisa, who scored the team's only goal. Radisa scored 2:59 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Trenton. Kent McPherson provided the assist.

Charlie Finn made 35 saves for Kingston on 36 shots. The Voyageurs incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
