The Clarington Eagles' Ben Pitchforth scored 1:50 into overtime to beat the Little Britain Merchants, 2-1 (OT). The win moved Clarington to down 2-1 in the best of seven series. The Eagles were led by goalie Adam Wood, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Wood will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.66. Clarington was led by Pitchforth, who grabbed one goal. The Eagles forced Little Britain goalie Neil Pittock to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Clarington got a goal from Jake Choiniere as well. Other players who recorded assists for Clarington were Dylan Howorko and Kyle Richardson, who contributed one each. The Merchants were led by Mitch Phinney, who scored the team's only goal. Phinney scored 2:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Little Britain. Dan Longfield provided the assist. Clarington incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Little Britain's Pittock stopped 37 shots out of the 39 that he faced. The Merchants incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
