Kyle Wilhelm gave the Kingston Voyageurs a 1-0 (OT) victory over the Trenton Golden Hawks when he scored 6:53 into the extra period.

With the win, Kingston went up 1-0 in the best of seven showdown.

The Voyageurs were boosted by Charlie Finn, who turned in a shutout with 48 saves. Finn managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.64 prior to the game.

Kingston kept Trenton's goalie busy throughout the game, and Spencer Finney made 36 saves on 37 shots.

Other players who recorded assists for Kingston were Steve McParland and Matt Eddy, who each chipped in one.

The Golden Hawks forced the Voyageurs goalie Finn to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots.

Kingston incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Trenton incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
