Iacaboni's big game bests Bay State Breakers in 8-2 Junior Bruins win

Steve Iacaboni was all over the ice for Junior Bruins, as he tallied two goals and three assists in Junior Bruins' 8-2 win over Bay State Breakers.

Iacaboni found the back of the net 19:14 into the first period to make the score 3-2 Junior Bruins and again while 24:55 into the first to make the score 5-2 Junior Bruins.

Junior Bruins managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Junior Bruins finished below its season average of 16 penalty minutes per game. Junior Bruins' offense efficiently hummed along to the tune of 60 shots put on Bay State Breakers' net. Junior Bruins found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Junior Bruins averages five goals per game. Junior Bruins' defensemen played an important role in the offense, as they chipped in two goals.

Junior Bruins additionally got points from Daniel Resop, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Alex Duplessie, who also registered one goal and one assist, Henry Fairbairn, who also had one goal and three assists, and Jonathan Massie, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Junior Bruins got a goal from Josh Smith as well. Other players who recorded assists for Junior Bruins were Mike Kantorski, who had one, Robert Houghton, who had two, and Gabe Lamontagne, who had three.

Bay State Breakers was led by Shayne McGowan, who registered two goals. McGowan scored the first of his two goals at 2:51 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Junior Bruins. McGowan's next tally made the score 2-2 with 3:49 left in the first period. Connor Shea provided the assist.

Shane Benjamin turned away 22 pucks between the pipes for Junior Bruins. Bay State Breakers' Kevin Hoy stopped 52 shots out of the 60 that he faced. Bay State Breakers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.

Bay State Breakers registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
