DeSousa leads Amherstview to shutout victory over Campbellford

Zach DeSousa recorded a shutout against the Campbellford Rebels as the Amherstview Jets picked up a 4-0 win.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Campbellford faces elimination next time out.

Dan Chadwick was all over the ice for Amherstview, as he racked up two goals in the win. Chadwick scored at 10:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Amherstview and again while on the power play 19:59 into the first to make the score 4-0 Amherstview.

The Rebels' power play was ineffective against the Jets' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Amherstview's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on nine Campbellford power plays.

Amherstview additionally got points from Brandon Gilmour, who also registered one goal and one assist and Nic Pascoal, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. More assists for Amherstview came via Liam Vanburen, who had two and Jesse Stone and Isaac DeSousa, who contributed one each.

Campbellford forced the Jets goalie DeSousa to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Zach DeSousa made 36 saves for Amherstview on 36 shots. The Jets incurred 40 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Jesse Labrecque took the loss and made three saves before being replaced by Ben Elliott who made 12 saves. The Rebels ended with 45 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors and one major. For Campbellford, Dylan Baxter and David Vandertoorn were ejected from the contest.
