Delhi erases deficit to stun Norfolk, 8-6

The Delhi Travellers rallied from three goals down to secure an 8-6 win over the Norfolk Rebels.

Delhi let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a three hole to pick up the win. The Travellers took a 6-5 advantage on a goal by Jake Legein at 8:32 in the third period. Delhi went down 5-2 after Norfolk's Kurtis Pettitt put the puck home short handed at 3:52 in the second period. After tying things up at 6-6 on a goal by Dave Matthews at 10:13 in the third, the Travellers got the game-winner from Jake Durrant at 13:57 in the third period.

The win gave Delhi a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Nathan Moyaert had two goals and three assists to lead the Travellers. Moyaert scored the first of his two goals at 7:38 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Norfolk. Mike DeCoene picked up the assist. Moyaert's next tally made the score 8-6 Delhi with 35 seconds left in the third period. Delhi had gained a power play chance when Matt Vansickle was whistled for roughing. Legein assisted on the tally.

The Travellers kept the Rebels' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jeff Stillman made 36 saves on 44 shots.
