Mt.Brydges falls to Lucan in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Lucan Irish's Brock Welch scored 8:17 into overtime to beat the Mt.Brydges Bulldogs, 2-1 (OT).

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Mt.Brydges faces elimination next time out.

Lucan's Dylan Gray was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 61 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Gray will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.62.

The Irish were sparked by Welch, who finished with one goal and one assist.

Lucan excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Mike Austin also scored for Lucan. Other players who recorded assists for Lucan were Mitch Smith, who had two.

The Bulldogs forced the Irish goalie Gray to work between the pipes, taking 62 shots.

Mt.Brydges was led by Nick Assissi, who scored the team's only goal. Assissi scored 4:52 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Brady Verougstraete provided the assist.

Lucan incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Eric Steinman made 24 saves for the Bulldogs on 26 shots. Mt.Brydges incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
