Fletcher nets hat trick, leads Mt.Brydges to 5-1 win over LucanLucan Community Sat, Feb 18, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
A hat trick by Adam Fletcher was the highlight in Bulldogs' 5-1 win against the Lucan Irish. Fletcher notched his first tally 12:28 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:59 into the first and at 18:24 into the first.The win moved the Mt.Brydges Bulldogs to down 2-0 in the best of seven series. Lucan was stymied by Mt.Brydges netminder Eric Steinman, who stopped 25 shots during the victory. Steinman certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.18 entering the contest. The Bulldogs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Irish to score on any of their nine power plays. Mt.Brydges kept Lucan's goalie busy throughout the game, and Dylan Gray made 33 saves on 38 shots. The Bulldogs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 32 minutes in penalties during the game. Mt.Brydges also got a goal from David Wade as well. More assists for Mt.Brydges came via Jeff Kennedy, who had two and Connor Dunn, Grant Johns, Connor Lovell, and Vic Pelton, who contributed one a piece. The Irish could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 31 minutes in penalties during the game. Lucan was led by Jordan May, who scored the team's only goal. May scored short handed 1:43 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Mt.Brydges. Jake Flemington picked up the assist. Mt.Brydges registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. For the Irish, Jesse DeGroot was ejected from the game.
