In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Port Stanley Sailors escaped with a 7-5 victory over the Lambeth Lancers.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Luke McGuire secured the win for Port Stanley with a goal in the third period.

With the win, the Sailors evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown.

Both teams had a hard time staying out of the box, and they combined for 26 penalties during the game.

Lambeth was unable to stop Port Stanley from sending pucks towards the net, and the Sailors eventually piled up 47 shots on goal. Port Stanley bested its season scoring average. This season, the Sailors average four goals per contest. Port Stanley could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game. The leading offender was Kyle Derrig, who totaled eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.

The Sailors were led by Lucas Knight, who grabbed two goals. Knight scored the first of his two goals at 13 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Stanley. Taylor Schram assisted on the tally. Knight's next tally made the score 7-5 Port Stanley with 1:29 left in the third period. Drew Eaton also scored for Port Stanley. Lambeth was led by Tanner Smith, who finished with two goals. Smith scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 14:20 into the first period to make the score 3-2 Port Stanley. A holding penalty on Derrig had put the Lancers on the power play. Mitch Furlonger provided the assist. Smith's next tally on the power play made the score 5-5 with 3:56 left in the second period. Greg Douglas assisted on the tally. Nick West also scored for Lambeth. In addition, Lambeth received assists from Conor Chilvers and Alec Cooke, who each chipped in one and Brandon Robbins and Dale Morningstar, who contributed two each.

Brandon Garner turned away 48 pucks between the pipes for the Sailors. Port Stanley registered three goals on 11 power play opportunities. Lambeth's JP Trudell stopped 40 shots out of the 46 that he faced. The Lancers registered three goals on eight power play opportunities. Team's Kyle Huston and Morningstar were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
