Iowa State University and Loyola University could not settle their match and fought to a 2-2 tie.

Iowa State University put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Loyola University to score on any of its five power plays. Iowa State University forced Loyola University goalie Kevin Lindberg to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Iowa State University was helped by Kinsey Cornick, who racked up one goal. Cornick scored 6:18 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Iowa State University. Loyola University stifled Iowa State University's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.
