Adam Leibinger netted a hat trick to lead Saginaw Valley over Southern Connecticut, 11-4.

Leibinger got on the scoresheet 9:13 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:03 into the first and at 11:00 into the third.

Southern Connecticut was unable to stop Saginaw Valley from sending pucks towards the net, and Saginaw Valley eventually piled up 42 shots on goal. Saginaw Valley surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Saginaw Valley averages 6.0 goals per game.

Saginaw Valley also got points from Ben Welch, who also tallied three goals and three assists and Jon Tibaudo, who also had one goal and four assists. Others who scored for Saginaw Valley included Dylan Welch, who had two and Chris Tibaudo and Mike McFarland, who each put in one. Southern Connecticut kept Saginaw Valley's goalie busy throughout the game, and Joe Kirkland made 28 saves on 32 shots.
