Dylan Welch netted a hat trick to lead Saginaw Valley over Loyola University, 5-4.

Welch notched his first tally 14:32 into the first period. He then added goals at 16:41 into the second and at 15:29 into the third.

Saginaw Valley pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 17 penalty minutes.

Saginaw Valley excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Saginaw Valley kept Loyola University's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jon Krober made 33 saves on 38 shots.
