Cal U of PA holds on for 8-6 win against Cal State Northridge

Cal State Northridge tried its best to erase a four-goal deficit, but Cal U of PA would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 8-6.

A goal by Nate Bohn put Cal U of PA up 8-4 in the third period, but Cal State Northridge pulled to within two on Anthony Kendryna's tally 19:58 into the third period.

Cal U of PA forced Cal State Northridge goalie Michael Standke to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Cal U of PA capitalized on Cal State Northridge's penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage. Cal U of PA's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Cal U of PA finished with 16 penalty minutes.

Cal U of PA also got points from Justin Locante, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Josh Werner, who also had one goal and one assist. Josh York also scored for Cal U of PA. Other players who recorded assists for Cal U of PA were Tim Gleason, who had two, Nick Posa, who had three, and Shane Ierardi and Kevin Claybaugh, who each chipped in one.

Cal State Northridge's offense rang up 33 shots on Cal U of PA's net.

Cal State Northridge additionally got points from John Dove, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Brian Carcerano, who also registered one goal and one assist. Cal State Northridge also got a goal from Alex Brodetsky as well. In addition, Cal State Northridge received assists from Chris Gale, who had three and Todd Hopkins and Mason Lomeli, who contributed one a piece.
