The Mooretown Flags pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Alvinston Flyers on a clutch goal by Aaron Schieman. After the loss made the series score 0-3 in the best of seven series, Alvinston faces elimination next time out. Although Mooretown was up by as many as three goals in the third period, the Flyers kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. Alvinston got to within 3-2 on a goal by Jacob Brown at 14:37 in the third period. Schieman was all over the ice for the Flags, as he finished with two goals in the win. Schieman's tallies came on the power play at 3:36 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Mooretown and 6:53 into the fourth to make the score 4-3 Mooretown. Mooretown excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Flags forced the Flyers goalie James Morreau to work between the pipes, taking 56 shots. Mooretown's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Flags finished with 24 penalty minutes. The leading offender was Calab Harse, who totaled 12 minutes in penalty time with one minor and one misconduct. Mooretown also got points from Kurtis Glowa, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Mooretown got a goal from Mike Burns as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mooretown were Alex Dawson, who had two and Caden Fleming, McGregor Haddon, Jeff Schroeter, and Andrew Sokol, who contributed one each. Alvinston was relatively well disciplined in the game, receiving only six minors and one major for 17 minutes in penalty time. The Flyers fell short of the 27 minutes average penalties per game. Alvinston kept Mooretown's goalie busy throughout the game, and Andrew Ganter made 35 saves on 38 shots. The Flyers were led by Dan Warner, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Warner scored 11:06 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Mooretown. Chris Edwards also scored for Alvinston. More assists for Alvinston came via Clint Rose, Brock Pinnell, and Chad VanEyk, who each chipped in one. The Flags registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Morreau recorded 52 saves for Alvinston. For the Flyers, Rose was ejected from the game.
