The Dresden Kings survived a determined comeback attempt by the Blenheim Blades on the way to a 5-4 win. A goal by Alex Schmidt put Dresden up 4-1 in the second period, but Blenheim pulled to within one on Sean MacDonald's tally 5:37 into the third period. The win moved the Kings to down 2-0 in the best of seven series. Dresden took advantage of the Blades' penalties, tallying three goals off of five power play opportunities. The Kings were led by Dylan Mertz, who registered three goals and one assist. Dresden also got points from Schmidt, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Brennan Rainey, who also racked up one goal and one assist. More assists for Dresden came via James Shelton, who had one and Josh Beatty and Jesse Allen, who each chipped in two. Blenheim kept Dresden's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brent Paxton made 29 saves on 33 shots. The Blades were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 28 penalty minutes. Blenheim was helped by Zach Mailloux, who finished with two goals. Mailloux scored the first of his two goals at 9:23 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Dresden. Justin Rossignol provided the assist. Mailloux's next tally made the score 4-2 Dresden with 19:21 left in the third period. John McKillop assisted on the tally. Blenheim additionally got points from Thomas Innes, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Blenheim were Tyler Clarke and Dylan Bonner, who contributed one each. The Kings incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Dresden, Jeff Vanrabaeys was ejected from the game. Dylan Vanderpol made 18 saves for the Blades on 23 shots. Blenheim registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
