Clarington beats Uxbridge 5-2 as Graham gets hat trick

Cody Graham lifted the Clarington Eagles to a 5-2 victory with a hat trick against the Uxbridge Bruins.

Graham notched his first tally 13:39 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:24 into the second and at 11:51 into the third.

The win by Clarington clinched the best of five series at 3-0.

Uxbridge's power play was ineffective against the Eagles' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Bruins were unable to stop Clarington from sending pucks towards the net, and the Eagles eventually piled up 47 shots on goal. Clarington struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 32 penalty minutes for 10 opposing power plays.

Eric Kimmerly also scored for Clarington. More assists for Clarington came via Jake Choiniere and Luke Garneau, who each chipped in one.

Uxbridge forced the Eagles goalie Adam Wood to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. The Bruins' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Uxbridge finished with 40 penalty minutes.

The Bruins were helped by Kyle Northover, who finished with one goal. Northover scored on the power play 16:45 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Clarington. Uxbridge had taken the advantage when Clarington's Kimmerly got sent off for hooking. Uxbridge also got a goal from Matthew Allen as well.

Wood rejected 31 shots on goal for the Eagles. Clarington registered three goals on 15 power play opportunities. Kristoff Lyons recorded 42 saves for the Bruins.
