Riley Babkirk gave the Wheatley Sharks a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Belle River Canadiens when he scored 8:15 into the extra period. After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Belle River faces elimination next time out. Babkirk had two goals to lead Wheatley to victory. The Canadiens' power play was ineffective against the Sharks' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. Wheatley kept Belle River's goalie busy throughout the game, and Zakk Olvin made 29 saves on 33 shots. The Sharks' power play unit failed to produce, and was held to zero goals on 12 chances. Wheatley found itself short handed often, totaling 26 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays. The leading offender was Babkirk, who totaled four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Trevor Grieve also scored for Wheatley. Other players who recorded assists for Wheatley were Dustin Woelk and Josh Tremblay, who each chipped in one. The Canadiens stifled the Sharks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Belle River was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 32 penalty minutes. The leading offender was Dylan Impens, who totaled six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Belle River additionally got points from Mike Ditty, who also registered one goal and one assist and Impens, who also had one goal and one assist. Belle River got a goal from Scott Chauvin as well. More assists for Belle River came via Keith Maisonville and Blake Jones, who contributed one each. Marc Tremblay made 27 saves for Wheatley on 30 shots.
