California Titans 18U shrugs off penalties, upends Phoenix Firebirds 18U, 5-1

Phoenix Firebirds 18U failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and California Titans 18U shook off a number of penalties to win, 5-1.

Both teams had a hard time staying out of the box, and they combined for 18 penalties during the game.

California Titans 18U was led by Lawton Courtnall, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Courtnall scored 9:29 into the second period to make the score 2-0 California Titans 18U. Tucker May provided the assist.

The California Titans 18U penalty box was a busy place as the team totaled seven minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time.
