GAME RECAP

North blows out West, 4-1

Troy Sports 3    Tue, Feb 21, 2012

North had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over West.

Mike Moroso was all over the ice for North, as he grabbed two goals in the win. Moroso's tallies came at 11:43 into the second period to make the score 3-0 North and 11:19 into the third to make the score 4-0 North.

West threw everything it had at North's Joe Ballmer, but he responded by making 17 saves to secure the win.

North put 32 shots on net during the contest, more than the 28 it averages per game.

North got a goal from Sean Murphy as well. In addition, North received assists from Maxwell Reavis, who had two and Andrew Graves, Nolan Valleau, Renato Engler, Logan Lemirande, and Kyle Sucher, who each chipped in one.

West did not rack up many penalties in the contest, registering a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time. North was unable to stop West from sending pucks towards the net, and West eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

West was led by Gabe Levin, who scored the team's only goal. Levin scored 12:08 into the third period to make the score 4-1 North. Gage Christianson picked up the assist.

North incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Nick Kulmanovsky turned away 28 pucks between the pipes for West. West registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
