Montreal rolls over Burlington, 7-2

Montreal had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-2 win over Burlington.

Meghan Agosta was all over the ice for Montreal, as she tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Agosta scored the first of her two goals at 11:40 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Montreal. Vanessa Davidson picked up the assist. Agosta's next tally made the score 6-2 Montreal with 4:25 left in the third period. Stephanie Denino provided the assist.

Montreal was efficient when it shot the puck, scoring its goals on only 10 shots.

Montreal stifled Burlington's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Montreal also got points from Caroline Ouellette, who also registered one goal and two assists. Montreal also had goals scored by Julie Chu, who had one and Emmanuelle Blais, who had two. In addition, Montreal received assists from Nathalie Dery, who had one and Bianca Della Porta and Catherine Ward, who contributed two a piece.

Burlington excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Burlington's offense was handcuffed by Montreal's defensive play, and Burlington managed only three shots on goal during the game.

Burlington was led by Sommer West, who racked up one goal and one assist. West scored 11:25 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Montreal. Mallory Johnston also scored for Burlington. Other players who recorded assists for Burlington were Amanda Shaw, who had one.

Jenny Lavigne recorded one save for Montreal. Montreal incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Burlington's Mandy Cronin stopped three shots out of the 10 that she faced. Burlington incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
