Huge game by Salkeld boosts Hampton Roads over Space Coast Hurricanes, 5-2

Ryan Salkeld was all over the ice for Hampton Roads, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Hampton Roads' 5-2 win over Space Coast Hurricanes.

Salkeld scored at 27 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-2 Hampton Roads and again while 13:36 into the third to make the score 5-2 Hampton Roads.

Space Coast Hurricanes' power play was ineffective against Hampton Roads' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Both teams had a hard time staying out of the box, and they combined for 22 penalties during the game.

Hampton Roads' offense efficiently hummed along to the tune of 44 shots put on Space Coast Hurricanes' net. Hampton Roads had trouble staying out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 26 penalty minutes for 10 opposing power plays. The leading offender was Cody Pessig, who totaled eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
