BRAMPTON survived a determined comeback attempt by ETOBICOKE on the way to a 3-2 win. A goal by Candace Seguin put BRAMPTON up 3-0 in the second period, but ETOBICOKE pulled to within one on Cara Sayles' tally 3:01 into the third period. BRAMPTON forced ETOBICOKE's netminders to work in net, ripping 39 shots and forcing 36 saves. Keri Martin made 34 stops and Amanda Smith made two. Katelyn Turk also scored for BRAMPTON. Other players who recorded assists for BRAMPTON were Laura Marchese, Bridget Balisy, Victoria MacKenzie, and Coco Sultana, who contributed one each. ETOBICOKE stifled BRAMPTON's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. ETOBICOKE additionally got points from Sayles, who also registered one goal and one assist. ETOBICOKE got a goal from Nicole Atkinson as well. More assists for ETOBICOKE came via Samantha Pui and Nadia Larocca, who each chipped in one. BRAMPTON's Brooke Stoddart stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that she faced. BRAMPTON incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. ETOBICOKE incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. |
