Field's goals lift Strathroy to 7-2 victory over Lambton Shores

Ryan Field had two goals to lead the Strathroy Rockets to a 7-2 victory over the Lambton Shores Predators.

Field found the back of the net on the power play 14:56 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Lambton Shores and again while 4:42 into the third to make the score 3-2 Strathroy.

Lambton Shores' power play was ineffective against Strathroy's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Rockets forced Predators' goalies to work in net, totaling 42 shots and forcing 35 saves. Justin Tugwell made 26 stops and Brandon Campbell made nine. Strathroy excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The Rockets' goal total was higher than their season average. Strathroy has scored at the pace of four goals per game during the current campaign. The Rockets could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game. The leading offender was Davis Brown, who totaled four minutes in penalty time with two minors.

Strathroy additionally got points from Tyler Duarte, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Greg Milner, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Stuart King, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Jacob Baribeau also scored for Strathroy. Other players who recorded assists for Strathroy were Nick Boyer, who had two, Jordan McNaughton, who had three, and Coulter Cahill, Brent Andriash, Mitch McNeill, Liam Gillooly, and Brian Brosnan, who each chipped in one.

The Predators forced Strathroy goalie Brendan O`Neill to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Lambton Shores was helped by Corey Pawley, who racked up one goal. Pawley scored short handed 19:54 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Lambton Shores. The Predators played down a man on Kody Ryan's tripping. Lambton Shores got a goal from Kyle Brothers as well. More assists for Lambton Shores came via Garrett Heiser and Nick Erb, who contributed one each.

O`Neill turned away 29 pucks between the pipes for the Rockets. Strathroy registered three goals on six power play opportunities. For the Rockets, Brown was ejected from the game. Lambton Shores incurred 42 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
