The Lambton Shores Predators beat the St. Thomas Stars, 4-2, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. Cody Trowell provided Lambton Shores with the game-winning tally when he scored 13:33 into the the first period. Kyle Brothers provided the assist.Adam Arseneault was all over the ice for the Predators, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Arseneault scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:07 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Lambton Shores. Lambton Shores had gotten the advantage when St. Thomas' Braden Hellems was sent off for holding. Corey Pawley assisted on the tally. Arseneault's next tally on the power play made the score 4-2 Lambton Shores with 10:29 left in the third period. Pawley provided the assist. Lambton Shores also got points from Pawley, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Lambton Shores were Garrett Heiser and Brett Thompson, who contributed one each. The Stars could not produce up to they normal offensive output. St. Thomas averages four goals per game. The Predators were unable to stop the Stars from sending pucks towards the net, and St. Thomas eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. St. Thomas got a goal from Davis Boyer as well. In addition, St. Thomas received assists from Drew Collinson, who had one and Kevin Zacharuk, who had two. Brandon Campbell made 33 saves for Lambton Shores on 35 shots. The Predators incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Michael Slaats recorded 16 saves for the Stars. St. Thomas incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
