The Niagara Falls Canucks survived a determined comeback attempt by the Fort Erie Meteors on the way to a 5-4 win. Niagara Falls took a 5-3 lead during the third period, only to have Fort Erie storm back on a Jordan Bailey goal 19:20 into the third period to pull to one goal down. Vito Scaringi had a great game for the Canucks, netting two goals. Niagara Falls' offense efficiently hummed along to the tune of 42 shots put on the Meteors' net. Niagara Falls additionally got points from Cam McLean, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Ben O Quinn, who also registered two goals and one assist. In addition, Niagara Falls received assists from Sloan Stewart, who had one and Garrett Gallardi, Ryan Wiley, and Rob De Jaray, who each chipped in two. Fort Erie kept the Canucks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Cody Vinnai made 39 saves on 43 shots. Team could not crack Niagara Falls' penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage. The Meteors found themselves short handed often, totaling 44 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays. The leading offender was Richard DeMarco, who totaled 12 minutes in penalty time with one minor and one misconduct. Fort Erie was helped by Jesse Parker, who grabbed two goals. Parker scored the first of his two goals at 5:04 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Niagara Falls. Bailey picked up the assist. Parker's next tally made the score 2-2 with 2:49 left in the second period. Aaron Wanat provided the assist. Fort Erie also got points from Bailey, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Fort Erie got a goal from Andrew Ansell as well. Other players who recorded assists for Fort Erie were Connor Stewart, Eric Muntz, Nik Passero, and Jordan Bolibruck, who contributed one each. The Canucks incurred 52 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Matt Stuart turned away 37 pucks between the pipes for the Meteors.
