Riley leads Brantford over Waterloo, 7-4

Behind a great game by Mike Riley, who had one goal and two assists, the Brantford Golden Eagles defeated the Waterloo Siskins, 7-4.

Riley scored 3:54 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Brantford. Mitch Facey provided the assist.

Brantford forced Waterloo goalie Jacob Keogh to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots. The Golden Eagles found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Brantford averages 4.7 goals per game.

Brantford additionally got points from Roger Sherwood, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Trent Hawke, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, and Nate Mitton, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Brantford also had goals scored by Ryan Blunt, Patrik Samanski, and Tyler Norrie, who each put in one. In addition, Brantford received assists from Dave Lazurus, who had two and Tanner Rutland, Mitch Brown, and Mike Rebry, who contributed one each.

The Siskins' offense rang up 39 shots on the Golden Eagles' net.

Waterloo was led by Kyle Platzer, who registered three goals. Waterloo also got points from Luke Rose, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Waterloo were Adam Campagnolo, who had two and Trevor Atkinson, Derek Mathes, and Derick Robertson, who each chipped in one.

Talon D`Orazio recorded 35 saves for Brantford. The Golden Eagles totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Brantford ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brandon Montour was ejected from the game. Jacob Keogh made 43 saves for the Siskins on 49 shots. Waterloo totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-6 on the power play. For the Siskins, Kyle McDonald was ejected from the game.
