Huntsville falls to Mississippi RiverKings in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Mississippi RiverKings' Matt Whitehead scored 15 seconds into overtime to beat the Huntsville Havoc, 4-3 (OT).

Mississippi RiverKings got the win behind a great game by Whitehead, who had one goal and two assists.

Mississippi RiverKings additionally got points from Mark Magnowski, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Darrell Stoddard, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Jeff Topilko also scored for Mississippi RiverKings. In addition, Mississippi RiverKings received assists from Nick Vandenbeld, who had one and Kyle Lundale, who had two.

Huntsville was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 20 penalty minutes.

The Havoc were led by Justin Fox, who racked up one goal and one assist. Fox scored on the power play 10:34 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Huntsville. Huntsville earned a power play opportunity when Lundale was put in the box for slashing. Derek Foam provided the assist. Huntsville also got a goal from Stuart Stefan as well. Other players who recorded assists for Huntsville were Barrett Brook, Colin Reddin, and Alex Morton, who each chipped in one.

David Wilson recorded 20 saves for Mississippi RiverKings. Mississippi RiverKings totaled 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors and went 1-for-3 on the power play. The Havoc's Mark Sibbald stopped 23 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Huntsville registered one goal on two power play opportunities.
