Sibbald, Huntsville blank Mississippi Surge, 3-0

Mark Sibbald recorded a shutout against Mississippi Surge as the Huntsville Havoc picked up a 3-0 win.

Stuart Stefan was all over the ice for Huntsville, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Stefan scored on the power play 11:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Huntsville. The Havoc had gotten the advantage when Mississippi Surge's James Isaacs was sent off for interference. Justin Fox provided the assist.

Huntsville put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Mississippi Surge to score on any of its five power plays. The Havoc were often in penalty trouble, as it ended with five minors and two majors for 20 minutes in penalty time.

Colin Reddin also scored for Huntsville. More assists for Huntsville came via Derek Foam and Jonathan Lafrance, who each chipped in one.

Mississippi Surge could not produce up to it normal offensive output. Mississippi Surge puts an average of 3.0 pucks into the net per game. Mississippi Surge's penalty kill was ineffective, and let in two goals to Huntsville's power play unit. Mississippi Surge's offense was clicking better than usual and put 46 shots on goal during the game, better than the 27.0 shots per game it averages.

Mississippi Surge was led by Nick Guran, who took nine shots.

The Havoc's Sibbald stopped 46 shots out of the 46 that he faced. Nick Eno made 20 saves for Mississippi Surge on 23 shots. Mississippi Surge ended with 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors.
