The Pensacola Ice Flyers and Mississippi RiverKings were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Pensacola made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Dan Buccella's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The Ice Flyers were led by Buccella, who tallied one goal. Buccella scored 19:36 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Pensacola. Ryan Salvis assisted on the tally.

The 38 shots that Pensacola put on net surpassed the Ice Flyers' average of 22.1 shots per game this season.

Matthew Robertson also scored for Pensacola. Other players who recorded assists for Pensacola were Jordan Chong, Jeff Sapieha, and Tyler Soehner, who contributed one a piece.

Mississippi RiverKings managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Mississippi RiverKings finished below its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game.

Mississippi RiverKings was helped by Jeff Topilko, who racked up one goal. Topilko scored 2:58 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Pensacola. Nick Vandenbeld picked up the assist. Mississippi RiverKings also got a goal from Leland Fidler as well. More assists for Mississippi RiverKings came via Matt Whitehead, Darrell Stoddard, and Chevan Wilson, who each chipped in one.

Jesse Kallechy recorded 23 saves for Pensacola. The Ice Flyers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. David Wilson made 34 saves for Mississippi RiverKings on 38 shots. Mississippi RiverKings registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
