Behind a great game by Kyle VanderMale, who had two goals, the Knoxville Ice Bears defeated the Louisiana IceGators, 4-1.

Louisiana was stymied by Knoxville netminder Kyle Rank, who stopped 36 shots during the victory. Rank managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.49 prior to the game.

The Ice Bears average 31.4 shots on goal per game, but only sent 25 pucks on net against the IceGators.

Knoxville also got a goal from Emery Olauson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Knoxville were Kevin Swider, who had three and Steve Wiedler, Mark Van Vliet, Mike Towns, and David Segal, who each chipped in one.

The IceGators were led by Tyler Fernandez, who scored the team's only goal. Fernandez scored 13:31 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Knoxville. Brayden Metz picked up the assist.

The Ice Bears totaled 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Dan Earles rejected 21 shots on goal for Louisiana. The IceGators totaled 12 minutes in penalty time with one minor and two majors and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
