Behind a great game by Kyle VanderMale, who had two goals, the Knoxville Ice Bears defeated the Louisiana IceGators, 4-1. VanderMale found the back of the net 10:47 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Knoxville and again while 10:09 into the second to make the score 3-1 Knoxville.Louisiana was stymied by Knoxville netminder Kyle Rank, who stopped 36 shots during the victory. Rank managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.49 prior to the game. The Ice Bears average 31.4 shots on goal per game, but only sent 25 pucks on net against the IceGators. Knoxville also got a goal from Emery Olauson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Knoxville were Kevin Swider, who had three and Steve Wiedler, Mark Van Vliet, Mike Towns, and David Segal, who each chipped in one.
