Mississippi Surge had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-0 win over the Louisiana IceGators. Colin Reddin was all over the ice for Mississippi Surge, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Reddin scored 1:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mississippi Surge. Nick Klaren assisted on the tally. Mississippi Surge pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 22 penalty minutes. Mississippi Surge excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Mississippi Surge's defensive play was more effective than usual against Louisiana. Mississippi Surge gives up three goals on average per game. Mississippi Surge also got points from Matt Kinnunen, who also registered one goal and one assist, Nick Guran, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Adam Stuart, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Rob Campbell also scored for Mississippi Surge. In addition, Mississippi Surge received assists from Jeff Grant, who had one and Glenn Cacaro, who had two.
