Rio Grande Valley beats Laredo 4-0 as Murray gains shutout

John Murray made 41 saves to complete the shutout and led the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees to a 4-0 win against the Laredo Bucks.

Rio Grande Valley was led by Reid Edmondson, who racked up one goal and one assist. Edmondson scored short handed 1:17 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Rio Grande Valley. Zac Pearson provided the assist.

Rio Grande Valley additionally got points from Jason Dixon, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Brady Leavold also scored for Rio Grande Valley. In addition, Rio Grande Valley received assists from Aaron Lee and Mike Wilson, who each chipped in two.

Laredo did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Bucks average 2.7 goals per game. Laredo forced the Killer Bees goalie Murray to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

The Bucks were led by Rusty Masters, who took six shots.

Rio Grande Valley totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. The Killer Bees ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Dan Gendur was ejected from the game. Torrie Jung made 19 saves for Laredo on 23 shots. The Bucks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
