Hogan leads Wichita to shutout victory over Arizona

Bryan Hogan recorded a shutout against the Arizona Sundogs as the Wichita Thunder picked up a 4-0 win.

Wichita pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 48 penalty minutes.

The Thunder were led by Matt Robinson, who registered one goal. Robinson scored 5:51 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Wichita. Matt Summers picked up the assist.

Wichita excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Thunder featured an improved defense during the game. Wichita gives up 2.6 goals on average per game. The Thunder put 30 shots on net during the contest, more than the 23.7 they average per game.

Wichita also got a goal from Kevin Young as well. More assists for Wichita came via Thomas Beauregard, who had one and Kevin Seibel and Brett Hemingway, who contributed two a piece.

Arizona did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Sundogs average 2.7 goals per game. Arizona's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Sundogs finished with 21 penalty minutes.

Arizona was led by Kyle Hood, who took five shots.

Hogan recorded 27 saves for Wichita. The Thunder registered one goal on three power play opportunities. For Wichita, Alex Bourret was ejected from the game. The Sundogs' Scott Bowles stopped 26 shots out of the 30 that he faced.
