Fort Wayne falls to Laredo in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Laredo Bucks pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Fort Wayne Komets on a clutch goal by Adam Rivet.

Laredo overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Bucks fell behind 3-1 after a goal by Fort Wayne's Chris Auger at 19:33 in the first period. Laredo tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Erik Boisvert at 7:57 in the third period.

Boisvert had a great game for the Bucks, netting two goals.

Laredo stifled the Komets' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Kyle Mariani also scored for Laredo. More assists for Laredo came via Neil Trimm, who had two and Matt Boyd, Trevor Hunt, David Inman, and A.J. Hau, who each chipped in one.

Fort Wayne's offense was clicking better than usual and put 40 shots on goal during the game, better than the 34.2 shots per game it averages.

The Komets were led by Colin Chaulk, who had one goal and one assist. Chaulk scored 1:02 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Fort Wayne. Mike Vaskivuo provided the assist. Fort Wayne also got a goal from Jesse Bennefield as well. Other players who recorded assists for Fort Wayne were Jamie Lovell and Kaleigh Schrock, who contributed one a piece.

Torrie Jung recorded 37 saves for the Bucks. Laredo totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Nick Boucher made 19 saves for Fort Wayne on 23 shots. The Komets totaled 12 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-4 on the power play.
