The Quad City Mallards tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but Allen would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2. Allen took a 3-1 lead during the third period, only to have Quad City storm back on a Mickey Lang goal 10:03 into the third period to pull to one goal down. Allen was led by Keith Johnson, who tallied one goal. Johnson scored 7:51 into the third period to make the score Allen. Jarret Lukin picked up the assist. Allen managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Allen wound up below its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. Allen's defensemen bolstered Allen's offensive attack, as they bombarded David Brown with 16 shots. By firing 37 shots on goal, Allen exceeded the 24.4 shots it averages per game this year. Allen additionally got points from Jeff Martens, who also had one goal and one assist. Jake Newton also scored for Allen. More assists for Allen came via Tyler Ludwig, Brian McMillin, Dylan King, and Erik Adams, who each chipped in one.
