The Fort Wayne Komets pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Quad City Mallards on a clutch goal by Artem Podshendyalov. Fort Wayne came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Komets was down 2-0 after a goal by Quad City's Justin Chwedoruk at 18:45 in the first period. Fort Wayne knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Jean-Michel Rizk at 9:39 in the third period. With 43 shots on target during the contest, the Komets exceeded the 31.6 shots they average per game this year. Fort Wayne also got points from Stephon Thorne, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Fort Wayne came via Bobby Chaumont, who had one and Chris Auger and Kaleigh Schrock, who each chipped in two. The Mallards forced Fort Wayne goalie Nick Boucher to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots. Quad City was led by Jared Brown, who registered one goal and one assist. Brown scored 12:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Quad City. John Snowden assisted on the tally. Other players who recorded assists for Quad City were Brandon Marino and Eric Giosa, who contributed one a piece. Nick Boucher made 45 saves for the Komets on 47 shots.
