Lee's big game bests Laredo in 8-2 Rio Grande Valley win

The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees' Aaron Lee had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing four assists in his team's 8-2 win over the Laredo Bucks.

Lee's tallies came at 6:10 into the third period to make the score 6-2 Rio Grande Valley and 8:39 into the third to make the score 7-2 Rio Grande Valley.

Rio Grande Valley surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Killer Bees average two goals per contest. By firing 31 shots on goal, Rio Grande Valley exceeded the 22 shots it averages per game this year.

Rio Grande Valley additionally got points from Lee, who also finished with two goals and four assists, Brandon Campos, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Jason Dixon, who also tallied two goals and three assists, Adam Bartholomay, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Brady Leavold, who also tallied one goal and four assists, and Dan Gendur, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Rio Grande Valley received assists from Tomas Klempa, who had two.

The Killer Bees were unable to stop Laredo from sending pucks towards the net, and the Bucks eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

Laredo was helped by Neil Trimm, who registered one goal. Trimm scored on the power play 15:52 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Rio Grande Valley. The Bucks earned a power play opportunity when Leavold was put in the box for hooking. David Inman assisted on the tally. Laredo got a goal from Greg Moore as well. Other players who recorded assists for Laredo were Erik Boisvert, who had two.

Wylie Rogers turned away 29 pucks between the pipes for Rio Grande Valley. The Killer Bees totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Laredo's starting goalie, Ryan Rondeau, made 17 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Torrie Jung, who stopped six shots. The Bucks totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play.
