South Shore Kings rips Salem Ice Dogs, 8-1

South Shore Kings had a six-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to an 8-1 win over the Salem Ice Dogs Ice Dogs.

Cameron Prouty was all over the ice for South Shore Kings, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Prouty scored the first of his two goals at 4:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 South Shore Kings. Brian Collins assisted on the tally. Prouty's next tally made the score 4-0 South Shore Kings with 7:18 left in the second period. Charles Buckley picked up the assist.

South Shore Kings kept Salem Ice Dogs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Maxwell Barr made 31 saves on 39 shots. South Shore Kings got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

South Shore Kings also got points from Collins, who also registered one goal and two assists, Michael DeBuccia, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Evan Jacques, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Tyler Ayers also scored for South Shore Kings. More assists for South Shore Kings came via Brian Bailey, who had two and Brandon Yee and Jack Kilty, who contributed one each.

The Ice Dogs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Salem Ice Dogs was led by Adam Merry, who scored the team's only goal. Merry scored short handed 17:01 into the third period to make the score 7-1 South Shore Kings. A high sticking call on Joshua Saber put the Ice Dogs on the penalty kill. George Winer assisted on the tally.

Kory LeBlanc made 18 saves for South Shore Kings on 19 shots. South Shore Kings incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Salem Ice Dogs totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. The Ice Dogs ran into disciplinary problems during the contest, and Devin Goyette was ejected from the game.
