Valley Jr Warriors falls apart in second, loses to Junior Bruins, 8-1

The Junior Bruins Junior Bruins used a four-goal second period to put away the Valley Jr Warriors Junior Warriors, 8-1.

Jack Eichel was all over the ice for Junior Bruins, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Eichel scored 10:52 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Junior Bruins. Hamilton Whyte picked up the assist.

The Junior Bruins' offense efficiently hummed along to the tune of 56 shots put on Valley Jr Warriors' net. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Junior Bruins additionally got points from Whyte, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Conor Garland, who also registered one goal and two assists, Chris Miller, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Josh Couturier, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Tyler Warila, who also had one goal and one assist. Junior Bruins got a goal from Nick Centauro as well. In addition, Junior Bruins received assists from Mac Cook, who had three and Ty Zampitella and Kyle Webb, who each chipped in one.

Junior Bruins' defense shut down the Junior Warriors' forwards for much of the game, and Valley Jr Warriors got off only 14 shots during the contest. The Junior Warriors' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Valley Jr Warriors finished with 14 penalty minutes. The leading offender was Luke Miller, who totaled four minutes in penalty time with two minors.

Matt Penta turned away 13 pucks between the pipes for the Junior Bruins. Junior Bruins incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Colin Soucy recorded 48 saves for the Junior Warriors. Valley Jr Warriors registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities.
