Lackey's big game bests Potomac Patriots in 5-1 Jersey Wildcats winAspen Ice at Randolph Sat, Feb 18, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Patrick Lackey was all over the ice for the Jersey Wildcats Wildcats, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Jersey Wildcats' 5-1 win over the Potomac Patriots Patriots. Lackey scored at 7:13 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Jersey Wildcats and again while 10:30 into the second to make the score 3-0 Jersey Wildcats.The Wildcats' Mark Specia was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 30 saves and let only one puck past him. Specia certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.98 entering the contest. Jersey Wildcats kept Potomac Patriots' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alec Yutzler made 30 saves on 35 shots. Jersey Wildcats also got points from Erik Andersson, who also registered one goal and two assists. Jersey Wildcats got a goal from Richie Johnstone as well. More assists for Jersey Wildcats came via Ryan Strapp, Scott Mogerley, and Zachary Chamberlain, who each chipped in one and Nicholas Branchina and Geoffrey Liter, who contributed two each. The Patriots' offense operated below they season average. Potomac Patriots puts an average of three pucks into the net per game. The Wildcats were unable to stop the Patriots from sending pucks towards the net, and Potomac Patriots eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. The Patriots were led by Peter Wydler, who scored the team's only goal. Wydler scored 14:08 into the third period to make the score 4-1 Jersey Wildcats. Andrew Turgeon picked up the assist. Jersey Wildcats incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Potomac Patriots totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
