Brewster Bulldogs falls to Jersey Wildcats after surprising comeback

Jersey Wildcats rallied from two goals down to secure a 4-3 win over Brewster Bulldogs.

Jersey Wildcats never led in the game until netting the game winner. Jersey Wildcats fell behind 3-1 after a goal by Brewster Bulldogs' Sean Henderson at 18:37 in the second period. Jersey Wildcats tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Austin Gordon at 13:31 in the third period. Jersey Wildcats netted the game winner on the power play at 17:41 in the third period on a goal by Gordon.

Matthew Sangalli had two goals to lead Jersey Wildcats to victory.

Jersey Wildcats' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Brewster Bulldogs power plays.

Nicholas Hall also scored for Jersey Wildcats. More assists for Jersey Wildcats came via Gage Malinowski, who had two and Martin Rovnak and James Trenkle, who contributed one each.

Jersey Wildcats was unable to stop Brewster Bulldogs from sending pucks towards the net, and Brewster Bulldogs eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Brewster Bulldogs was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 30 penalty minutes. The leading offender was Richard Folchetti, who totaled 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one misconduct.

Brewster Bulldogs was led by Joseph Leveille, who had one goal and two assists. Leveille scored 13:36 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Brewster Bulldogs. Brad Alexander assisted on the tally. Brewster Bulldogs got a goal from Michael Benincasa as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brewster Bulldogs were Gregory Hennings, who had one.

Grant Perry recorded 29 saves for Jersey Wildcats. Jersey Wildcats incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Brewster Bulldogs' Brandon Belz stopped 24 shots out of the 28 that he faced.
