Bismarck outlasts Aberdeen, 4-2

The Bismarck Bobcats gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Aberdeen Wings.

Bismarck gained the winning advantage on a goal by Nicholas Miglio 17:50 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

The Bobcats were led by Miglio, who had one goal.

The 41 shots that Bismarck put on net surpassed the Bobcats' average of 33.6 shots per game this season. Bismarck's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Bobcats finished with 18 penalty minutes.

Bismarck also got points from Daniel Zawacki, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Bryce Anderson also scored for Bismarck. More assists for Bismarck came via Francis DeAugustine, who had two and Danny Ray, Adam Knochenmus, Filip Starzynski, and Castan Sommer, who each chipped in one.

Aberdeen was helped by Mike Parnell, who registered one goal. Parnell scored on the power play 19:38 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Aberdeen. The Wings earned a power play opportunity when Ryan Callahan was put in the box for slashing. Steve Obarzanek assisted on the tally. Aberdeen also got a goal from Paul Prescott as well. In addition, Aberdeen received assists from Cullen Hurley and Oliver Widding-Persson, who contributed one a piece.

Aaron Nelson rejected 21 shots on goal for Bismarck. The Bobcats registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Aberdeen's Marcus Zelzer stopped 37 shots out of the 40 that he faced. The Wings incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
