Traverse City blows out Jamestown, 3-0

The Traverse City North Stars were firing on all cylinders against the Jamestown Ironmen, and when the final buzzer sounded North Stars emerged with a 3-0 win.

Traverse City was paced by Jared Van Wormer, who racked up one goal and one assist. Van Wormer scored 14:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Traverse City. Kyle Schempp picked up the assist.

The North Stars was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Traverse City gives up 2.7 goals on average per game. The 33 shots that the North Stars put on net surpassed Traverse City's average of 22.6 shots per game this season.

Traverse City additionally got points from Mitchell Snider, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Michal Toman also scored for Traverse City. More assists for Traverse City came via Chris Waterstreet and Sean Murphy, who contributed one a piece.

Jamestown could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Ironmen put an average of 2.5 pucks into the net per game. Jamestown relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Eric Fragoso, Matt Moore and Ryan Urso took 14 of the team's 24 shots.
