Kalisz leads St. Louis over Chicago, 10-2

Behind a great game by Joe Kalisz, who had two goals and three assists, the St. Louis Bandits defeated the Chicago Hitmen, 10-2.

Kalisz scored at 3:08 into the second period to make the score 2-0 St. Louis and again while 14:35 into the second to make the score 5-0 St. Louis.

St. Louis stifled Chicago's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bandits found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. St. Louis averages 3.7 goals per game. The 56 shots that the Bandits put on net surpassed St. Louis' average of 29.3 shots per game this season.

St. Louis additionally got points from Joseph Birmingham, who also tallied one goal and four assists, Rance Hughes, who also finished with two goals and three assists to lead the team in points, and Ryan Stouffer, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. TJ Sherman also scored for St. Louis. In addition, St. Louis received assists from Drew Kariofiles, who had two, Josh Dangel, who had three, and Greg Johnson, Patrick Pollock, Drew Slaton, and Garret Peterson, who contributed one a piece.

By firing 26 shots on goal, the Hitmen exceeded the 23.5 shots they average per game this year.

The Bandits' Spencer Viele stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. St. Louis incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Chicago's starting goalie, Ryan Coyne, made 42 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Nick Kohn, who stopped four shots. The Hitmen incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
