Austin downs Bismarck, 5-2

Charlie Adams finished with two points to lead the Austin Bruins to a 5-2 victory over the Bismarck Bobcats.

Austin's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Bismarck power plays. The Bruins relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as CJ Smith, Jeremy Finger and Chris Fischer took 15 of the team's 29 shots.

Austin additionally got points from Trevor Waldoch, who also had one goal and one assist. Matt Hansen also scored for Austin. More assists for Austin came via Jonathan Gehrt and Brandon Wahlin, who each chipped in one.

With 50 shots on target during the contest, Bismarck exceeded the 36.2 shots it averages per game this year.

The Bobcats were led by Nicholas Miglio, who racked up one goal and one assist. Miglio scored 15:52 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Donald Olivieri provided the assist. Bismarck also got a goal from Bryce Schmitt as well. In addition, Bismarck received assists from John Furgele and Ryan Callahan, who contributed one a piece.

Tyler Bruggeman recorded 48 saves for Austin. The Bruins totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Bismarck's Aaron Nelson stopped 24 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Bobcats ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major.
