Jamestown falls to Michigan in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Chris Eckler gave the Michigan Warriors a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Jamestown Ironmen when he scored 4:34 into the extra period.

Michigan nearly gave up a two-score lead. The Warriors made the score 2-0 on a goal by Brad Pizzey at 9:38 in the second period. Jamestown got to within 2-1 on a goal by Jon Smith at 8:01 in the third period.

Michigan was sparked by Eckler, who finished with one goal.

By firing 36 shots on goal, the Warriors exceeded the 24.3 shots they average per game this year.

Michigan also got a goal from James Kline as well. Other players who recorded assists for Michigan were Martin Gruse and Joseph Ferriss, who each chipped in one.

The Ironmen kept Michigan's goalie busy throughout the game, and Brach Tiller made 33 saves on 35 shots.

Jamestown additionally got points from Ryan Urso, who also tallied one goal and one assist. In addition, Jamestown received assists from Bryan Watt, who had two.

The Warriors ended with 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and had no power play opportunities. Joe Ballmer recorded 33 saves for Jamestown. The Ironmen totaled 12 minutes in penalty time with one minor and two majors and went 0-for-1 on the power play.
